I have devoted considerable time at the University of North Carolina and nationally to articulating new models for PhD career paths, especially in public history and along the “alt-ac” path. I have, as a consequence, been interested in becoming a voice for changes in academe and history graduate education that would ease PhDs’ transition into many employment sectors.
